Well at Fxamps, we definitely are, and to honour its maestro guitarist, we offer you the DG-20, with that fantastic deep and ultra dynamic light crunchy sounds, heard on so many records. The DG-20 can also offers superb clean sounds, with a lot of depth and definition.
Starting with the gain dialed down, the DG-20 will give you hot and bright cleans, with a lot of punch and dynamic. Plug a Stratocaster, add a touch of our Heartbeat modulated delay in tape mode, and let your diamond shine.
Dial up the gain for pleasant open-sounding crunches, perfect for any style of music, played with single coil or humbuckers.
Gain at max, the DG-20 produce a raw and dynamic lead, perfect for soloing with a vintage open sound, with a lot of definition. Super reactive to your playing and to the guitar volume pot, you can still dial back to a nice clean without even touching the amplifier.

True dynamic technology
The DG-20 introduce the new True dynamic technology. These are exclusive specially designed circuit to improve the response of the amplifer to your right hand playing. The result is a super touch sensitive sound, very reactive to your playing, just like a big stack driven to full blast. So now your Fx amplifier not only provide fantastic sounds even at very low levels, but you’ll also get the true feeling of a pushed 100w amplifier.
Quiet play
The DG-20 has the special « ultralinear master volume » technology, designed to play at any level, even at very low level at night. That master volume is very progressive, and easy to set even at low level. There is no jump in level like with a typical master volume, and it remains progressive until the end of the course. The amp also has a 20w/2w for the most quiet conditions, with a slight frequency correction in 2w mode to compensate for the bright response of some speakers at low level.
No Bias System
Change your tubes yourself, at home, no equipment needed. Freely choose between 6L6 and EL34 power tubes, you can even mix a 6L6 and an EL34. Procedure is quick, easy, and without risk. This will save you hundreds in maintenance every year, and will allow you to test many tube brands and combinations.
Big tubes
Were other amps uses cheaper EL84 tubes to get 20w, all FX amplifiers uses big EL34 or 6L6 tubes, just like the big 100w stack amps. These big tubes give a more massive sound, with increased bass response, even a low level. BIG TUBES = BIG SOUND!
Smart connections
The head version (and reverse head) features two speaker outputs in parallel, along with a 4/8/16 ohms impedance selector. This allows a variety of possible connections, with one or two cabinets from various impedances.
The combo version offers exactly the same outputs, and the speaker is externally connected (cable included). This allows for multiple smart connections. You can use the internal speaker alone, internal speaker + external cabinet, one external cabinet only, two external cabinets. It also allows the use of an attenuator with internal speaker or external cabinet, and the use of a loadbox for silent recording. Finally you can also use the combo as a cabinet for an external amplifier (In that case, turn off the amplifier section of the combo!!!)
DC tube heating
Heating tubes with DC current is quiter than the usual AC wiring. It takes more time to wire, and it’s a little bit more expensive, but it’s really worth it. Your Fx amplifier is guaranteed to be as quiet as possible.

I have a second hand custom built amp by FX Amps which was actually the one that led to this DG20. The first owner which clearly was a pink floyd fan had it named “which one is pink?” 🙂
It’s a great amp, clean and takes pedals really well. You can get it to crunch quite well with the gain knob. The master volume works really well even at low volume and there is the 2W/20W switch which seems to work nicely too.
I say “seems” because I actually never heard the amp through a real cab. I used to play it through a two notes captor, and now through a UAD OX Amp Top Box (with a creamback virtual cab as recommended on FX’s website) and it’s great!
The bright & deep switch really do change the sound, it can get almost vox like (to my ears) with the bright engaged. Medium & High knobs react as expected, bass i have to keep quite low (I never go above 2) otherwise the sound is too bassy for my taste.
I really love that amp, it’s become my main one and even my bandmate’s one when tracking songs. I never had the chance to play an actual hiwatt, but this DG20 sounds like what I would expect from one. Great for Floyd stuff but not only, I recommended it!

Pour ceux qui ont lu mes avis concernant d’autres produits affichés sur cette page (Classic Plex, Dual Evolution, Cabs Creamback et V-type), vous aurez compris que je suis un utilisateur comblé des petites merveilles fabriquées par FX.
Au niveau esthétique, rien à redire par rapport à mes avis précédents.
L’ampli répond aux standards d’excellence de FX et est à nouveau magnifique.
Je me surprends souvent à perdre mon temps à simplement l’admirer – sans même l’utiliser.
Comment allait-il donc s’en sortir avec le son mythique d’un guitariste qui a inspiré tant d’entre nous ?
Eh bien, c’est encore mieux que je ne l’espérais.
Tout y est : la clarté et la précision du son ; l’extraordinaire association que donne cet ampli avec différents effets caractéristiques du maître (overdrive, distortion, fuzz, phaser, chorus, flanger, delay, …).
Comme pour les deux autres, l’ampli d’une vie, tout simplement.

J’ai eu la tête de mon DG20 avant le cab….on m’a prêté un cab Harley benton.wJ’ai donc été à 3 ou 4 jams avec…on me disais ..’oui c’est pas mal mais le son est un peu mince….je me suis posé des questions….et puis…le cab fx est arrivé et la….la claque…plus du tout le même ampli…tout y était…
Un timbre fabuleux avec un énorme headroom et maintenant le greenback est rodé et je ne changerais plus d’ampli….merci François..
